Neptune 4 Max

Shipment arrived damaged. Took pics prior business trip with hope to get replacement parts. Learned can not submit taken picture and must wait until i return home. Waist of my time have a broken printer sitting around and prolong getting parts. Disapointed.

I've been casting around for a large format printer for a few months and ended up with a print job where I finally needed to pull the trigger. I decided to go with the Neptune 4 Max because it was under $400 and I figured even if it was not a great printer I had nit invested much in it. Fortunately for me this printer has been a solid Workhorse since I unboxed it. Just have to spend 20 minutes leveling it every other day and it pumps out quality prints.

New unit arrived used with black filament inside nozzle and bent on corner. No response from Elegoo for a week now.

I just recently purchased this printer and recieved it in fairly quick, i waited 3 days to pull this printer from the box to assemble it as i had to build a big enough table for it to sit on with it being such a large unit. I was recommended to elegoo from a trusted source that has purchased a printer. I am very familiar with 3D printers as i own many Bambu Lab printers that have never given me any issues outside of extruder clogs. I pulled this printer from the box and assembled it everything assembled well. I plugged the printer in did the manual leveling and then the automatic leveling, selected the correct voltage output and loaded up a small bench boat to test print. The file downloaded from the slicer and began printing with no issues. half way through the print my brand new Neptune 4 Max shut off and would not come back on. After doing some research it appears many of these neptune series units are shipping with faulty or just flat out bad PSUs people are reporting dead on arrival luckily mine did fire up initially but has since died and will not turn back on. I decided to give elegoo a try and decided against purchasing another Bambu Lab printer for a larger build surface. I was recommended to elegoo for their printers being Sleeper Builds i did not think that meant my printer would power up one time go to sleep and never come back on. I do have faith elegoo will make this right by helping me fix this issue along with compensate me for my frustration with a brand new printer. At this point in time i would highly suggest against purchasing this printer. This printer on paper is an absolute powerhouse. But in all reality i guess you get what you pay for. i was thinking about picking up a few Centauri Carbon's as well but at this time the first impression with my experience with elegoo printers is not good. Really hope this can get resolved rather quickly.

Used for about 6 months, every single print has a chance to fail. If you want it to print big prints it has an even high chance to fail it to the point you might as well have bought a smaller printer. Speeds go up 500% but I wouldn't recommend raising it at all since the faster it is the higher chance it fails a print again. The default 100% speed is slower printing than a ender 5. Extruder extruded into itself and broke itself twice already. Prints supports very very hard to the point its basicly going to be part of the print. All this is from default/out of the box settings with manually and automatically leveling the bed before use. I basicly only used it to print very very small prints even though its a very big printer, and even then its only a hand full of prints. VERY NOT BEGINNER FRIENDLY.

I needed a larger build area for a prototype project. I selected the Neptune 4 Max because it matched my needs (16 cube), has a great price, and generally has good reviews.

I have been away from 3D printing for almost 10 years, so I was not very familiar with new machines and their feature.

When I opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised by the weight and build quality. Assemble was easy - but may be a little challenging for someone without much mechanical experience.

Overall the printer works fantastic. I love the quality of the parts made. I had to get use to the bed leveling process - but no problems.

Back in the day... I did all my parts in PLA - I love PETG. Wow! Easy to print, and strong. I do use carbon and glass fiber in most of the functional parts I make. I run everything through .6mm and .8mm nozzles. Mostly .8mm for the larger parts and brackets. .6mm for gears.

No regrets for making this purchase. So far I have run about 2 spools for PETG through the printer. The quality of the machine makes me confident it will print fine for a long time.

I try printing masks and if I get a power outage my Neptune 4 max will say it can recover it but I try it and it warms up but will never start backup and cable keeps popping out mid print very unhappy with product.

Got this as my first 3d printer. For 2 weeks, I was thinking that I was doing something wrong. I learned that the bed had warped by about 1mm in the back.
Turns out, this company's contact page is a mess.
It is only a ticket based system, so no phone calls to get any details in an orderly time.
They want pictures and videos of the printer, but the website doesn't upload pictures and it also does not even support the video that you need.
Very unhappy, bad customer service, bad product

I bought a Neptune 4 Max around a year ago. I chose the Neptune because of the wider array of extrusion materials. Technically, it is a wonderful machine that I’ve been pleased with it. Support is another issue. I had a concern when I first bought the machine and had to take one adjustment screw to a HARD end of travel to level the platform. Elegoo's response, take a video of it. The second service call came after a crashed build (my fault). I never received any response to that service ticket. I went to Amazon and bought a new extruder/heat sink.
Great machine, terrible support.

At first it was amazing and then everything’s went down hill I e spent more than 800 dollars trying to fix this printer it’s good but not the best

3 months I have been trying to return this printer and they have fought me every step of the way. Not providing a return label or address. They refuse to give me a full refund saying my excuses is not good enough to return it. The printer shift on large volume prints due to the spring being too weak to handle anything bigger than a helmet, it’s constantly out of calibration, z banding is awful, the belt tensioners come loose on long prints. Spend the extra hundred and buy the anycubic. Oh and they pick and choose what reviews they put in their site that’s why it looks like this printer is great.

Been trying to return this printer for over 2 months. This place refuses to give me a label . I would go get my own but the printer will not fit in my car. Trying to charge me 72$ for restocking fee when the return information on the site says 5% for unopened packages. Which would be 19.80$ customer support is abysmal and very slow to respond. Read real reviews before you purchase. These printers are riddled with issues and will cost you more to “upgrade” the parts than what the printer cost.

The Nwptune 4 Max replaced a Creality Ender 5 Plus which stopped homing. It is a much better printer. It was easy to assemble and quickly produced prints. The lighting is a big help. The quality of cables and connectors is much better than Creality. It also does not use a bowdon tube which is frequent trouble spot.

The quality and ease of use of this printer beat the pants off the large volume Creality printer which it replaced.

Just so much that is wrong. It requires about $800.00 of improvements and still is consistently random in its fail rate. Sometimes it just stops but says it is still printing. The epoxy plate is hit or miss, but it does NOT like PETG, atleast for me. Using consitently same good bambu labs filament. All the meanwhile my P1Ss are working like champions. Is the bed and slinging worth it... NO!

Excelente maquina

I have not used this yet but I have big plans for it. I go to comic cons and reptile expos and I plan on making full con suits for comic cons. I also use my machines for our reptile rescue and sanctuary we have to make hides and other environmental settings for the reptiles we have.

Lots of issues with this machine. It required lots of adjustment to get everything stable. It was missing washers on many of the machine screws and had malfunctioning firmware. I haven’t been able to get a single print STARTED in the WEEKS I have owned it. If you’re reading this, pass on this printer. After my experience, I’ll be passing on Elegoo altogether.

After struggling with an ender and dealing with the small build volume of my other printer, the N4 Max is a refreshing change of pace. Set up was super easy and pretty much started printing right out of the box. Having it for about 2 months now and have not had any failures. Be warned though this printer does take up a LOT of space. Both wide and front to back due to the 'bed slinger' design.

While this may have been damaged in transit (although the box had no visible damage), this printer was nothing but issues. Between the Y belts not tightening or staying tightened (common issue), the separate cooling fan being warped and knocking prints off the bed during the print, the print bed being warped (common issue), having to heat wash the bed for 25 minutes before every print to keep the auto level from changing during the print (common issue) and the bed heater cable coming unraveled and disconnecting at random; this thing was nothing but problems. They did cover it with the buyers insurance so I would recommend buying the insurance with it and support was easy to deal with but I would pass on this printer personally. I also could have just got a dud.

This printer constantly jams the leveling gets off extremely easy. I’ve only had one half successful print so far with lots of headaches and replacement parts.

WORST PRINTER EVER. never works right. I've been leveling it for 3 hours and every print still fails. on my 2n nozzle assembly because when they do fail, they just melt the entire nozzle piece. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

only 3 parts printed and the heat sink and part between the nozzle started pushing out PLA and completely failed. Mid print, left the room and came back to a mess. If this is an indicator for the quality of the machine over all this regrets are now in full swing. rest of the machine seems good. for now.

This printer worked great for 1 day. Now I’ve had 2 blobs of death and replaced the nozzle. Still won’t print right. I’ve done ever tutorial on bed leveling. Spent hours trying to fix it. And still destroys every other print. I want a refund!!!!

The Neptune 4 Max has been a great printer. I have had mine almost 6 months and have only had a couple of issues with the bed level of which Elegoo support has been super helpful and prompt to correct. Very easy to work the issue out with! But the printer does print very nicely for an open bed printer. But this was my first 3D printer I have ever owned. After doing my first bed level, it has been printing fairly regular ever since. Great support and prompt response! Thanks Elegoo!

I bought my Neptune 4 Max pre-owned, but it arrived heavily damaged. I did pick up the Worry Free Purchase through Elegoo, and that got me a refund for the printer. The extra insurance usually feels like a scam, but it saved me $250USD this time.

I bought this on the recommendation of a friend that has a business doing professional 3D prints (he currently has 3x of these in his fleet). I wanted something that was good to go out of the box hardware and software wise, has a large sized print volume, and could handle everything from PLA to Nylon (with a varying degree of additives).

This printer is definitely the best of the 5 I’ve ever owned and I’ve finally been able to both get great, high quality results AND experiment with different filaments + printing methods without fear of breaking the machine. I can switch from a high quality PLA print to ‘experimental’ transparent TPU prints and back again without any unexpected downtime. I’ve only made one change to the printer from stock (hardened steel nozzle) but otherwise this has been performing flawlessly.

For the price, I would put this printer far and above most other printers out there; just make sure you have the patience to learn about all of the features for a printer of this level, and it will not let you down.
