Marsmate Air Purifier

From the unboxing to the first prints, this piece of equipment is extremely easy to use and intuitive to manage. You can tell it was designed from start to finish of a project in mind. This is my first 3d printer and I already feel confident to tackle more complex projects because I everything has been so easy to pick up. Every item in the bundle just clicks into place and works, no fuss.

My son saved his money bought an Elegoo printer but it made our garage small toxic. I told him he couldn't print anymore until we figured out a solution for the smell. We purchased the Mars Mate and it work great. The smell has been dramatically reduced to the point I can't tell when he is printing now. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

keep the garage smell free, definitely a must have.

Bought this to go with the Saturn 4 Ultra 16K, made fume capture nicely plug and play and makes printing almost fume free inside. I'm a little discourage about the replacement cartridge cost, but I may 3D a new filter case and refill it with bulk activated charcoal.

my garage went from smelling like resin to scentless immediately. the filters last me about 3 or 4 months and i am printing all the time.

Works well with filtering out fumes

This filter works great, but could be improved with more controls. Would be great if able to match print duration. Auto doesn't always work as advertised.

This thing is beyond powerful for the odors and such that come with printing. An absolute must have imo.

I can tell it works when I pick up the lid and get a waft of resin air. Thankful it works so well in my closed garage!

keeps the smell down a lot

The trouble with the Mars Mate isn't that it doesn't do what it advertises; it's that it doesn't do it well enough and it gives the illusion of solving a problem that it simply cannot solve.

Youtube and reddit have plenty of analyses and comments to the effect of: this thing is great at removing the odor but less great at removing the actual VOCs emitted by resin printers (and by the off-gassing during washing and curing). So you imagine that you've solved the problem because you can't smell the odor, but the problem is still there -- and even if you trusted the Mars Mate to purge the VOCs from the printer, it isn't going to do anything about washing and curing in another area.

At the end of the day, proper ventilation means enclosing both your printer and your washing and curing station and venting the exhaust outside. A carbon filter isn't gonna do it.

Unfortunately, I ordered this from Elegoo and the cost of returning it was $36.50 in shipping and a 15% restocking fee, so I'll keep it just to help with odors (assuming I can fit it in my enclosure). But I regret this purchase.

Sadly, while there is a decent filter in this unit, the airflow and pull it creates from the chamber is minimal. With a proper air detector within proximity, there is no discernible difference in VOC levels or air quality, nor do you notice a difference on a personal level for odors. For the price, just put it towards a proper medical grade air purifier. This unit does almost nothing.

Honestly, it's the only thing I ordered that I actually think works as advertised.

Don't buy anything elegoo and if you have to buy only this.

Great Machine

You hook a hose up to the back of the machine yet at the top part of the case there’s a gap which allows the order and to get out into the air, even though the machine supposedly sucking it through the tube it doesn’t truly have a lot of suction going on while it’s printing to suck out all the order It still smells bad.

Ordered Saturn 4 and mars washer and later the purifier for xmas. Preparing the space and ventilation took time and ultimately (after 25 days, we realized we didn't need the air purifier and wanter to return it.
However the return policy is 14 days. How ridiculous!! anybody interested in a new mars air purifier at a good price?

I bought the mars mate to compliment my new Saturn 5 ultra. After having ran the system I decided to try with the filter disconnected and the outlet covered and actually noticed a decrease in resin smells. Fan seems to not change between speed when in auto, fan noise is minimal at least.

I'm new to resin printing, and I quickly noticed the smell from the water washable resin when I started using my Saturn 4. I bought the Mars Mate Air Purifier to help to control the fumes and the setup very easy: Remove the square panel on the back of the Saturn, fit the supplied hose plate, connect the hose between the printer and the purifier, switch on and you're done.
One bit of advice, be careful with the screws and nuts to fit the new plate as the nuts are tiny. I dropped one on the floor and it took me a while to find it.
I also took the opportunity to purchase the stainless steel funnel, a spare build plate and a spare resin tank. The spare tank will make swapping between water washable and regular resin a lot easier.

My studio space is small, so the larger air filter with hose attachment to printer is terrific for keeping fumes to a minimum. In the summer I can open the windows, but I am excited to use the printer this winter to make stuff!

Doesn’t seem to work very well or very powerfully at all. In addition there’s no way to use the heater if you want to use the purifier!

I think the printer makes more noise than the Air Purifier. This is the first time I have used an Air Purifier with a resin printer (previous one's had basic charcoal filters built in and I use a low odor resin) but that being said, the Mars Mate works great!

So I ordered this and used it with what I think are the two most common setups a printer in the open, and the same printer (Saturn 4 Ultra) in a grow tent. With the printer in the open the scent of resin was still very strong even in a very well ventilated room. With the tent the purifier was connected to the tent instead of directly to the printer. The room smelled fine and when the tent opened surprisingly there was very little to no smell within the tent.

My first one broke due to my own error and the second arrive in 4 days, my replacement part is still 2 weeks out but at least I was able to get a second printer faster than a replacement part

Works well, there is no noticeable smell or noise while it is in operation.

My kids loved that it doesn't smell in their apartment anymore and I love that I had a hard time going over to visit them before now it is so much better to go and not smell the stench anymore which makes a big difference for me as I can't take the smell.

Not really enough power to clean the air. My Vic levels didn’t drop and the smell only disappeared a little. Not really worth the money. I was really hopping elegoo had it figured out since the price is not cheap. Unfortunately they go off order date when it comes to returns and it was a pre order and by the time it arrived the return window was over.

The purifier worked right out of the box and did everything I wanted to do.

So far it works as advertised. I smell any odors from the resin I’m using.

This is a perfect match to Saturn 4 Ultra. The odious odoriferous fumes have been minimized to be unable to detect outside of the basement area where I print. The carbon based element is quite sufficient. The easy attachment to the printer is terrific!

Great air purifier. I have this connected to my new Saturn 4 Ultra and it reduces the odor of the resin in my workspace. I just which it was smart enough to turn on and off when a print was running.
