Neptune 4 Pro

Received my printer all my prints were going great and then I got a blob of death that killed my printer head idk what happened I literally babied my machine cleaned it and leveled every day but then I go to buy a new head and guess what no heads in stock then I message warranty and they never reach out to me so at this point I have spend almost 300 dollars on a machine for my business that I can’t even fix don’t buy a Neptune go buy from a different company save your money and stress

My printer arrived pre-assembled in the box. Is this the usual procedure from the company?

Friday the 12th was gonna be my Christmas with my kiddos as I don’t get them for Christmas but elegoo send a device that didn’t even work from the start when I tried to get it to work it work say it couldn’t heat up the filament triple checked everything and messaged them last Friday morning thinking they would respond soon… they didn’t not till Monday where the message told me if I had checked stuff I already did like I didn’t read your directions then they still couldn’t bother responding back Tuesday finally they said they have the stuff on the way check the shipping oh hey they didn’t deliver it till Wednesday morning it it won’t get here till Monday now so happy I get to give my kiddos an expensive paper weight for Christmas thanks for not caring elegoo

Bought this printer for my kiddos as an early Christmas present and have had nothing but problems with it and the company turns out the instructions that it’s comes with parents actually that great and you’ll end up going down a YouTube rabbit whole where the stuff you need to do to make your machine run smoother and better is but won’t at all be in the instructions then the extruder won’t even heat up and when you contact them they decide to take 4 days to respond and tried saying I’m fucking dumb so told them if it wasn’t fixed I’d go for a refund so I could get my kids an actual present they said they sent it out yesterday but they haven’t even dropped it off at usps just sad

Constant issues with delamination failed prints every time I use this machine I have to constantly mess with it just to get it to start printing had it for a few years now and just threw it in the trash as a machinist that wants to use this machine to cheaply and quickly Make ways to fixture parts it’s quicker for me to make a set of soft jaws

I’ve had it for over a year, and it’s still working perfectly. The build quality is excellent, with a solid and well-finished structure. The print accuracy is impressive, even on small details. The direct drive extrusion system makes all the difference in extrusion consistency and handling flexible filaments. Completely satisfied with the machine’s performance and reliability. Best value for money on the market.

So many issues with this printer, needs to be leveled after every print, bad user interface, constant delamination, layer shifts, extra long print times. Don’t bother buying.

title pretty much says it all. I’ve had a good time with this printer but I kinda wish I had bought a Bambu A1 mini instead.i am new to 3d printing and the learning curve has been pretty steep. The manual and instructions are not always clear, the fact that the Neptune Pro doesn’t have wireless is mystifying, and it’s very confusing to have both manual and automatic bed leveling.

That said, I don’t think there’s a less expensive printer with this many features and such a large bed. I’ve made many more successful prints than failed ones. I’ve learned a lot. I’m pretty happy with the Neptune Pro overall.

I have been looking for a 3-D printer and the elegoo Neptune four unit met my expectations. It was pretty easy to set up and to get my first print. Of course, I printed Bodie and almost through the print. It decided to slip from the table and I was able to save the print. It taught me that I need to learn more about the unit, but that’s what this unit is about. It’s about learning how to use a 3-D printer. ZZ for me to understand and set up. It’s easy to use. And I’m learning as I move along. A great first printer. I read on the Internet about people having problems. I have not had those problems so I obviously got a good unit. Looking forward to continue learning about 3-D printing and doing more things with my unit.

Use case: I only print mechanical parts on PETG and I print a lot of parts.

The shortcomings of this printer are:

1. The print bed I received was warped (2.47mm) and was not sufficiently flattened (still 0.2mm) by the magnetic bed.

Yes, auto leveling can put an even first layer onto a warped bed, but any warpage in the bed will always show up on the print.

So I bought a different print bed for $13.

2. The nozzle is proprietary and Elegoo doesn't sell packs of brass nozzles in 0.4mm alone.

It's either multi packs with different sizes I'll never use, or steel nozzles which have different thermal properties.

So I ordered a bunch of knockoffs.

3. You have to remove and disassemble the head to change the nozzle, period, or you will torque your hot end.

The mystery wrench (??) that they sent does not fit the holes in the head, so I have to take the fans off and use a monkey wrench to hold the heater block when I change the nozzle.

4. In order to tune pressure advance, you have to connect to a computer with a LAN cable and access Klipper's printer.cfg file.

The good things about this printer:

1. By connecting with a LAN cable, I could adjust everything I was accustomed to adjusting in Klipper. I was also able to attach an ADXL345 for tuning vibration, but I didn't need to use it.

And by running the LAN cable to a router I could access my printer over wifi.

So I didn't bother with any custom flashing to non-stock Klipper.

2. I did not see a difference in print quality between this and the Bambu printer I got rid of. In fact, the benchy I printed on the Bambu had a split in it and took about 10 minutes of warming up and doing some kind of robot jazzercize before it even started printing so I don't see what the hype is all about.

2. The Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro doesn't have to upload my design files to a foreign country known for IP infringement, make me agree to terms of service before using the printer, or make me download some crappy app on my phone.

Not every company can say that, right?

3. The control screen is on an extendable cable so I can have the control screen outside the print enclosure which is very convenient for large PETG prints which are basically destroyed by a small draft.

4. The metal rails give my edges a far better finish than I was accustomed to on my old printer.

All in all I am content with my purchase at the price point.

This is a great 3D printer -if- you are willing to take the time to learn about the ins and outs of printing. Learn your slicer. Follow the instructions, this machine doesn't 'do it for you', but once you learn how to work it you can bang out print after print. Use screws_tilt_adjust to level your bed

I was trying to repair my old Neptune 2 and decided to upgrade. I purchased the Neptune 4 pro and what a difference. Faster and easier to use. Love the machine!

A little learning and a little tweaking still required but it prints great out of the box.

I've been using printers for years and have encountered all types of work/replacement needs due to extended use which is expected. After years of using the same machine it was time to upgrade so I did a ton of research and decide to go with the 4 pro. Ordered at the beginning of February and received the unit a week later. When opening the box the Z-axis comes preassembled and for the rest of assembly followed their in box directions exactly. Unit was great and for the first 5 prints and I was ecstatic then the unit started making a grinding noise and sticking at points when moving up and down (z-axis). Took it apart and reassembled per instructions again checking wires and assembly, still happening. Reached out for help and they don't want to acknowledge defect even though the unit is brand new and has not seen anywhere near enough use to be having any issues. Their 'solution' is take it apart again and again and in the mean time my time is being wasted and they've effective stolen my money. Oh and their offer for an exchange which I had to argue for is 'we'll send you and open box unit' so basically you buy new, it's defective and dies almost immediately, and then you're exchange offered not a new printer like you paid for but a potentially used or defective unit. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS TRASH COMPANY THAT COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!

I wanted to follow up on my recent purchase. I was tasked to find a fairly inexpensive 3d printer for my coworkers. I am part of the audio video team that supports our offices and need various 3d prints to mount video conferencing hardware behind displays etc..

Having come from Ender 3, I figured why not give this a try as it is packed with features. Upon building and testing the first print, I was extremely impressed (LED lights are a game changer).

2-3 days later I did my 9th print and came back to the machine an hour later to a mess and the extruder was filled with PLA filament. After fixing it no longer can zero out Z axis properly and along the way it no longer recognizes any USB drives and throws out an error message. Ironically that is what eventually failed on my ender after 3 years and started the hunt for a good alternative. Will not be recommending to anyone at this point.

After setting up and going threw the steps for set up. I have gotten 5 prints before receiving errors that took a month to fix. After getting the new parts, a family member sent it to me and the new part seemed to work fine. After 7 prints I had the confidence to start a print before bed. I watched the first 30 layers go down before falling asleep and woke up to a 75g gram blob of pla that destroyed the entire uper assembly penetrating the rubber assembly that ripped the head sensor cabling out. After 5 hours and a complete teardown of the head assembly I found out that my printer is down. Now another thing that I've discovered is the 4x micro leveling wheels under the hot plate came off in shipping. And now I can't seem to adjust the back wheels. Also another big thing that is problematic is the instructions in the box shows you how to level and assemble and connect. There needs to be more info about troubleshooting common issues. Worth 15 pages more of info. Maybe ship the usb drive in the box with more troubleshooting. Elegoo you've given me a starting point but if I decide to get a resin printer and it has the same issues, I won't support your company anymore.

I was able to print about a dozen things and then the machine started having z-axis issues. I've done everything I can find or thing of to try and resolve it, but nothing has helped. I contacted support, but they have not responded. Now I have a useless 3d printer sitting on my desk. I'll probably have to return it, but with all the problems I've had with elegoo products, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

With Orca slicer, the printer works pretty well

This was my first 3d printer, and I am very happy with how it is working so far. After unpacking and setting up there was only a little work required to get the bed properly levelled, but after that I have been running it nearly non-stop for the last few days and every print comes out great. Keep in mind this comes with the extruder so no need to buy the assembled extruder kit unless you'd like a backup.

I can’t believe how cheap this printer is for the quality!! This is my second 3D printer, first by this brand. Took me about 1 hr to set up, only because I was trying to make sure it was perfect (due to issues with another brand). It was honestly not hard to set up, I would recommend watching a video tho. Immediately printed something and I couldn’t believe my eyes at how fast it was, and when the print was done, it was perfect. I’ve printed multiple things and so far it’s been absolutely amazing. I feel like I’ve been living in the dark ages with my old printer.

Only potential problem so far is how loud it is. However I have it in another room so it’s not a big deal :) overall super happy

Got this on Black Friday and after setting it up and starting to print , this thing is amazing!

There is quite a bit to know about 3D printing it seems. It's a learning process. But the hardware seems to be working fine as far as I can tell.

I don't have any other experiential reference point for 3D printing other than that with the Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro. I can say that it has exceeded my expectations relative to speed, print quality, and user interface. I feel like I've made a great choice with this printer and look forward to realizing prototypes of ideas I've had for a long time.
