Mercury XS Bundle

I purchased the Mercury XS bundle along with my Mars 5 Ultra for my first venture into resin printing after more than 10 years of FDM printing. I am very glad I did.

The wash and cure process is simple, straightforward, and much cleaner than trying to handle everything manually. The wash station does a great job cleaning prints, and the curing station is easy to use and gives very consistent results.

As a complete setup for someone getting into resin printing, the Mercury XS pairs extremely well with the Mars 5 Ultra. It takes a process that could easily become messy and inconvenient and makes it much more manageable. Very happy with the purchase.

You may be able to clean and cure your figures a lot of ways that are less expensive, but this method is well worth the expense if you're trying to streamline your process. I fill the tank up, place the entire build plate upside down where the ledge holds it in place, place the cover on so the 91% Rubbing Alcohol doesn't evaporate, clean for 5 minutes (this also cleans the build plate), take them out of the tank, let the remaining alcohol evaporate, scrape the printings off, remove the supports, and cure under the UV Light box for 5 minutes. After several cleanings, let the resin settle, pour out the usable alcohol into a clean container, clean out the sludge, pour the alcohol back in. You waste a lot less by doing this kind of maintenance. These recommendations are based on my own experience with the resin I use. always be safe, do no harm to your person and don't blow up your house. Be mindful of your actions please and follow manufacture's instructions.

From the unboxing to the first prints, this piece of equipment is extremely easy to use and intuitive to manage. You can tell it was designed from start to finish of a project in mind. This is my first 3d printer and I already feel confident to tackle more complex projects because I everything has been so easy to pick up. Every item in the bundle just clicks into place and works, no fuss.

Purchased with my Saturn4 Ultra. Printer amazing! 5 stars. This wash and cure bundle... straight garbage! Wash station timer dial broke after three washes. Curing station refuses to power on after wash station died. Quality is nothing close to the printer itself. Get the printer, but look for your wash/cure somewhere else.

Why don't you offer replacement wash OR cure stations for if/when one of the two stops working? Why do you have to buy the bundle together to get either one individually? They work fantastic but it seems insane that you can't purchase replacements for when stuff like the motor in the wash stations starts to wear down over time.

Everything feels cheap for the price. I am especially disappointed about these points:

Washing station:
The base is made of ABS plastic that easily dissolves in the resin washing solution that Elegoo sells. DO NOT USE IT. All it takes is a small accidental leak, a couple of drops while you're taking the item out, and the washing basin will either be permanently glued to the base, or significantly damaged.
Another downside is the 'food container' stile lid with flaps. You will need a replacement lid very soon, because flaps will fall off after a few months of use.

Curing station:
Insides are made of ABS plastic that is sensitive to UV light and becomes brittle. The reason you should not be worrying is quite pathetic - built-in UV LEDs are very weak and very few. In essence, the curing station sucks at curing, it is not much more powerful than sunlight. For the price, they should have included a couple of 9W UVC bulbs or at least better and mode densely distributed UV LEDs.

This is my first dedicated wash and cure station (been using a DIY setup for several years now) and I find the lack of provided information disconcerting. I would have like to have seen at the very least a rough guideline (for example, x number of 25mm figures, set sure time for y minutes, or for every x ounces of resin used cure for y minutes). I've been having to ballpark (with varying degrees of success) how much time to set the wash and cure stations for. The only real issue I have with the washing station is that the gaps in the wire bucket(?) are large enough that when printing standard 25mm-32mm miniatures, the limbs frequently get stuck in the grating and it is a very delicate process to remove them without breaking them.
Having said that, the wash station does an excellent job of removing the excess resin and (when I get the timing right) the curing station does a fine job of hardening the pieces without turning them yellow.

I really like the dual base design. Allows me to separate the work station.

I have the Mercury XS Bundle setup and it works perfectly. I am new to resin printing, a lot of forums talk about using a bucket and the sun to wash and cure. I live in a place where the sun doesn't show itself except for a few months in the summer. This setup is simple, clean and super easy to use. No instructions needed, just setup and go.

Curing machine stopped working after 3 uses, it's a common issue

These do exactly what they are supposed to do. No complaints.

Overall they wash and cure stantions are perfectly functional and work well, but the knows have a very cheap quality about them. The fact that you must turn the system off then back on to run another cycle is pretty annoying as well.Not sure the added cost of the handheld UV light makes this a better purchase over the X

The timed stirring in the wash basin and rotating plate in the cure station makes post-processing very easy. The included UV flashlight is also nice for curing hard to reach places.

While this does everything as far as cleaning the prints and curing everything, I wish that the cleaning vat was large enough to fit the Saturn 4 build plate.

I should have paid attention to title and size, but this was offered as a bundle so I didn’t realize it is smaller.

The wash unit is large enough to put big models in and cleans great,The curing station works good unlike my Anycubic unit (that will through small parts off the turntable) this one moves slow giving a good cure it also has a UV light in the bottom to help cure parts.The wash unit needs tabs to hold the part basket for draining.

Great product and easy to set up.

Turn knobs feel cheaply made. Wash bucket feel cheap also could use better plastic like Anycubic. Love the hand held UV light attachment.

Easy setup and great quality prints!

The day my Mercury XS arrived, the LEDs under the turntable did not function. Everything else works as expected. I have left requests for assistance twice and have heard nothing back.

Does what it needs to do.

Very good accessory to accompany the 3D printing, only two complaints:

The baskets of the washing station do not have the size required for the build plate of the Mars 5 Ultra so I must create an accessory.

The rotation of the platform at the curing station does not correspond to the time dial, let me explain; the curing time can be varied in intervals of 30 sec, but the platform makes a complete revolution in about 80 sec and taking into account that the station has a light below it would have been good if the rotation time was in a multiple of 30 sec

However, these two complaints do not detract from the 5-star rating it deserves, in addition to the fact that this kit includes a manual UV lamp and protective goggles

I always used an ultrasonic cleaner with simple green then rinsed in water before curing with UV diode lights. Unless I cured in water the parts still had sticky resin or uninformed surfaces. Wash station actually removes resin and after drying before curing, the pasts look great. Definitely a good purchase.

Love the quality and efficiency

The machines work very well. I have done 2 prints so far. The details are excellent. My only gripe is with the instructions. The book is thin and the instructions aren't really designed for someone starting from square one. I had to watch several YouTube videos before I was confident of success. Overall I call it an excellent purchase. Well worth the money.

I am so happy after it better than anycubic

I am new to resin printing, and 3d printing in general. I was able to unbox the machine, set it up, and get the first test print without a single issue. I felt in control the whole time. And the print came out flawlessly!

I love the fact that the wash and cure stations are two units and that I don't have to swap out the curing platform for the wash bin. Also, so many lights to make sure every angle is hit. Then the little light pen to get inside of hollow objects is the frosting on the cake.
