Neptune 4 Plus

Half the shit dies within six months this is the third one I bought out of an experiment they fucking suck you face device is gonna die and or your head is gonna get fucked up

Direct drive, huge print bed, auto leveling, filament run out sensor, touch screen interface, even lights on the Elegoo printer!This printer is such an incredible upgrade at an incredible price.

The assembly instructions were great especially since most of the machine was pre-assembled. It was great that each step had its own bag of hardware. All the tools were provided including filament for testing.

Leveling the bed was easy and I was printing in no time! So far all my prints are turning out great and printing at much greater speeds than my old Ender.

I can't wait to see what I can do with such a big build size. I'm excited to try a bunch of helmets first!

I really love my printer, it can print entire helmets at once which saves me a huge amount of time and effort and the printer is generally straight forward to maintain and adjust

One side of the bed just will not level and has taken me hours of releveling it over and over to try and work and then alot of failed and messed up prints

I have no words. I have had this printer for 2 years, and I think I have spent more time fixing things than actually printing. I would rather buy a $50 Chinese 3d printer than this thing. Please, I mean, please don't buy this thing. And for elegoo please actually spend time designing a printer and not just a moving stick with a marker on it

I purchased a new & open box 3D printer from Elegoo. When the printer arrived, there was filament in the nozzle. This was a used printer. The printer did not work well from day one, ever after balancing the machine and following all the instructions. Elegoo would not provide a replacement printer, no refund, etc. This printer was for my daughter for her birthday and she wanted to print items for her classmates. The only correspondence from Elegoo has been long emails with troubleshooting ideas. They don't have a phone number to call in the United States and sold me a used printer when it was supposed to be new & open box.

One month in, and this printer is already a nightmare to deal with. While it seemingly did fine for the first month I have had it, it has since decided to destroy itself any chance it can get. No chance it print settings, or in what I was printing, and my first extruder completely blobbed itself pass the point of repair. The extra I had gotten, also decided to start blobbing up as well. So I decided I wanted to change out the nozzle for a bigger size, since I didn't need any detailing, but the way the extruder is designed, it's easy to damage and destroy the heating tip, even when you follow the exact way elegoo tutorials show you how to change it.

This was my first FDM printer, and it's been a headache. While it has worked to some extent, it's been more problems than benefits for me.

I have a elegoo neptune 4 plus the belt broke 9 months in and the firmware broke too belt I can fide the size for but firmware I do not know how I contacted support before it work for 5-7 days but then it stoped working

This is my first 3D printer, I'll start with that. I researched and experimented with the printer until I found where I liked for it to be. The printer did great at first, I had zero issues. I decided to go from PLA to ASA, then eventually ASA CF. I bought an Elegoo stainless steel nozzle set and installed to the printer. All was well for a couple prints with the CF, then it suddenly wasn't.

The printer decided to start spaghetti monstering my prints and wasted an entire roll of ASA CF, it printed fine at first, so I walked away from it and went to bed for the print to finish. Adjusted the offset and tried again. Worse. Tried it once more, and then even worse. So, I adjusted the offset, leveled the bed... AGAIN... And it decided to take a huge bite out of my build plate. I shut it off via the switch and it basically deleted its Bios and identified as a Neptune 4. No version numbers, no IP, nothing. I contacted support and they told me to update it, though I literally couldn't because it was stuck on the About Machine page and wouldn't leave it.

So, I gave up and walked away from it for a few weeks. Decided to try again, and turned it on, to which it turned on fine without me doing anything... I thought, 'SWEET! I can print again.' Well, once again, after levelling and adjusting offset, it scraped the plate. So, I made a G-code to manually set my offset and thought all was well, since it was printing fine with that setup. So, I went back to the g-code that printed fine on regular ASA, the same one that was spaghetti monstering on ASA CF, and right off the bat, under extrusion.

So, I lifted the print head, only to find that it has ripped the hot end nozzle RIGHT OUT OF the hot end. I had extras, so I replaced it, hooked the two wires back up, and booted the printer... Guess what? The printer said the print head was at -40*C and anything I tried to do rendered the same result. I'll try replacing the head, and see if that fixes things...

Here's the thing though, this printer is not that old, maybe a few months. I contacted support previously and their solution was to update the printer... So, you want me to update the printer because it decided to not retain my Z-Offset and decided to identify as a Neptune 4? You want me to update the printer because even after it decided to work again, it decided to still under extrude and rip the nozzle out? Then it won't even register the hot end correctly? For the printer to have two different problems, one right after another, there's something else going on

I'm going to maintain my 2 stars, even if I get a solution. I'm not even going to contact support about this anymore because they're a joke and their only solution is to update, when clearly something else is WRONG.

Proper setup and proper maintenance have been the key to perfect prints. These printers are workhorses. I have 4 of them now and planning to buy a few more.

The machine is great, however the WiFi functionality, atleast from what I have found so far, is limited to the Elegoo slicer. I prefer to use Cura, so that sucked to lose the WiFi capability.

For my grandson's birthday (his tenth) he requested a 3D printer! Specifically, a Neptune 4 plus. After a big discussion about what were the strengths and weaknesses, and how to maintain this machine. I ordered the machine and presented it with Mom and Dad, the day before his birthday. He watched the videos and installed it himself in less than an hour! I helped him with fine tuning the bed leveling, now has a great working Neptune 4 Plus that he uses a lot to 3D prints parts for his hobby, Air raid and weather sirens.

My Neptune 4 came about three months ago, and ever since I’ve fell in love. At first, I encountered some problems with leveling and the firmware, but after contacting an Elegoo representative, and with surprisingly fast response times as well, I was able to properly fix my printer. After months of use, often left overnight, I can say that I’m very happy with it.

As for things that could be improved, in my opinion at least:
Firstly, it would be nice to see the printers already updated to the latest firmware, so the user doesn’t have to take apart the handheld device in order to fix it. (Not that complicated, but it may be for some). Secondly, making sure the printer comes with instructions that are a little clearer in terms of setup, as well as the setup videos on YouTube. They could be better. Third, I’d like to point out that the plastic clip that holds the cabling to the tower snapped within a few days of use, not to mention it barely fit the cables. Adding a sturdier, larger cable clip would fix that issue.

One more thing, the giant fan on the back of the printer doesn’t necessarily serve a use. Sure, it’s a nice backup to have on standby, and a good counterweight to account for the kinetic energy of the head movement, but apart from that, it really doesn’t see much use. That may just be a ‘me’ thing, but I feel like the majority of prints that these versions of printers see doesn’t include the need for that giant fan.

Overall, I’d say the Neptune 4 Plus is definitely worth the money, but only if you’re willing to put forth the effort to make sure it works right. If you get stuck, PLEASE contact an Elegoo representative. They’ll get back within the same day, or the next. For the price, and what it is, I’m very happy. I mean, I made an entire Batsuit from it. It’s pretty darn good.

Wishing I would have paid the little extra and got the Max. Does amazing making custom parts for terrariums. No issues what so ever. Easy construction, easy level and user friendly. All parts made using the Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus.

Print out of the box looked great. Tweaked and calibrated it and now I’m nearly finished with a full set of Captain Rex Armor!

I have been trying to get this printer to print properly, but I keep on having prints fail.
I am constantly having to level the printer, some times after a single print.
The Elegoo Cura provided does not see the printer on the network, only Elegooslicer and regular Cura can see it.
I have spent more than 2 spools of filament trying to get successful print jobs.
Supports wont stay in place.
The bed came with cracks where the screws were installed and the wheels are releasing dust from friction.
it's just and endless stream of failed print jobs.
My 4 year old Anycubic i3 Mega Pro does a better job at printing.
I bought this printer in the hopes that it would print out of the box but it has failed miserably.
Also, when the bed is all the way forward, it can be moved up and down.

Great compliment to my Neptune 3pro. Easy set up and reliable workhorse.

I bought this a year ago, and spent a month with support trying to fix their bad software, then gave up and it's a $400 paper weight now.

While it wasn't exactly plug and play, and it took a while to get a reliable print, that was all user error. I've been printing nearly every day with this printer and the success rate is over 80%. I love the auto bed leveling alongside the manual. It lets you dial in the level even better than if you just used auto. The interface is easy to use, and I really like how easy it is to swap filament. There's a nice filament run out sensor that pauses the print for you until you get a new spool, and it's really easy to deal with. It was easy to set up with orca slicer to print over WiFi, too. I've been able to print at 350mm/s without failure most of the time. Remember, if your print fails on this printer, it's likely user error or because you have moisture in your filament.

So far this printer has been great. We have a few prints through it and the quality and speed is awesome. I'm also very impressed at how quiet it is. Time will tell but so far so good.

The printer is ok assuming you are comfortable tinkering with it for a while the manual leveling with knobs is terrible and very annoying it’s proprietary fork of klipper and moonraker are terrible and the voltage switch is buried deep within the printer and is a pain to access which is problematic because the printer came set for European voltage I’m in the US the screen is terrible personally I recommend setting up Fluidd or Mainsail with octoeverywhere which is pretty easy to do but honestly just buy an a1 or a1 mini from bambu labs

I got this in November of 2024. At the time, I was using a Ender 3 V2 that I was trying to upgrade. I couldn't get all the parts to work, so I decided to just get a new one. Did my research, and found the Neptune 4 Plus, which had ALL the upgrades that I was trying to install on the Ender. Wish I had done my research before ordering the parts for that one and saved my money to purchase this one sooner! Haven't regretted the decision to purchase this printer! Does SO much better.

I own Anycubic, Flashforge, Flsun and Elegoo printers. My favorite are by far the Elegoo. I have the Neptune 4 Plus, 2 Neptune 3 Pros the Mars 5 ultra a Saturn 4 and I am waiting on the Centauri Carbon. Elegoo has fantastic printers and I would recommend them to anyone!!!!!!

I had a different printer before and everything on it was manual. I love the ease of using the Neptune and how I can easily send print from my PC the printer unlike my previous where I had to keep using an SD card.

I ordered the Neptune 4plus it arrived in a timely fashion. Packaged securely easily assembled and works amazingly!

I waited to review my Neptune 4 plus until I had enough hours on it to have a meaningful impression. With over 100 hours now I think it is a great value in this size range. So far I've printed PLA and PETG materials.
While it requires a bit of tweaking to ensure it prints good this is typical of models in the price range. Not sure its a good beginners printer but would not be a bad choice either since it is mostly assembled on arrival.
It has a few annoyances like lack of bed sheet alignment guides but that can be remedied with self printed addons.
In summary this is a good size vs cost printer and I can fully recommend it.

The printer was fairly easy to assemble. After following a couple of Youtube videos on calibration I was able to get things dialed in and start making nice prints in a short amount of time.
