Mars 5 Ultra

This is my first foray into resin printing after more than 10 years of FDM printing, and I have been extremely impressed with the Mars 5 Ultra. The print quality and level of detail are amazing compared with what I am used to from FDM.

Setup was straightforward, and I was able to get excellent results very quickly without a long learning curve. My first prints came out far better than I expected, with extremely fine detail and clean surfaces.

For someone making the jump from FDM to resin printing, the Mars 5 Ultra has been a great introduction. So far, I could not be happier with the printer or the results. Highly recommended!

So I’m not new to 3d printing. I’ve got Bambu filament printers and I have the Saturn 2 elegoo resin printer. I kind of hated the hassle of resin printing- until now. Don’t be scared of slicer software you can learn it fast there’s tons of tutorials online, this machine is fast, unbelievably easy, and dare I say the new love of my crafting life? (Paints you will always be that girl) but I love this printer. It has yet to fail and you can spy on it at work w the camera just like my bambus! If you’re new to resin printing make sure to download resin settings from the website of the manufacturer of the resin you are using into your slicer, I use chitubox and I love her.

Great unit, I use it along side my Filament printers, but also use it to print out miniatures for table top gaming.

So easy.

I cancelled my order of a used machine and specifically noted in the request I wanted to purchase new BECAUSE I'm not comfortable working on electronics and replacing parts (I have carpal tunnel). My printer arrived with a broken thermometer and....they sent me a new part which requires a full tear down and rebuild to replace. Including steps that aren't mentioned in their repair guide. I would not have bought this printer if I had known the warranty just means they'll send you new parts and hope that fixes things.

I was concerned about 3D resin printing after reading about folks having issues getting prints to stick to the build plate, leveling the plate, nasty resin fumes, etc.

I have been completely blown away by how well this printer, Mercury 2.0 wash/cure station, and the Elegoo water washable resins have been working for me and the engineering in these devices. Sure, I have had a handful of failed prints but have easily tweaked my settings in Satellite and my results are excellent!

The self-leveling works flawlessly. I have used the clean tank feature a couple of times and it works great, too. I bought a backup build plate, a second wash tub for the Mercury, and may buy an LED screen at some point. The prices for these parts are very reasonable in my opinion for what you are getting.

And a plug for the Satellite slicer. The UI is a bit quirky in spots and there isn't much online help for it but once you figure things out it is a pleasure to use and integrates seamlessly with the printer. I am a fan of this software!

Finally, I have found Elegoo's technical support very responsive. They have responded to my tickets within a few hours. Very nice!

Sooo nice! Such an upgrade from my mars 2. Very easy and worked right out of the box.
I printer a very small version of the included rook and the details are unbelievable.

I have been unable to successfully print the basic test file. Nothing sticks to the plate even though i adjusted the exposure time. The software instructions are outdated and i believe the auto leveling is a complete lie. Even if I can fix the issue its is clearly falsely advertised. I got this printer because it said it had auto leveling and was plug and play.

If your looking for a hassle free printer or it's your first printer, this is the one. A ton a features that make it easy to start resin printing. From the multiple exposure testing, Wi-Fi, auto leveling, etc make it really easy to get into. If I ever upgrade to a bigger build area there's just no way I I'll go without those features. It's probably the best printer in this price range for a first printer.

I was happy for a whole year and changed the fep when needed but suddenly it has half failures (50% of the prints fail in the same plate print ) It seems the buildplate does not get the auto adjust sweet spot.

It''s one of the best resin 3D printers I own so far. But the reason I don''t give it five stars is because it fails every so often. But overall would recommend.

Haven't had a chance to use this yet, as it's a Christmas present, however, it showed up in a large box with the words '3D printer' on the side. Not only did this ruin the surprise, but it advertises the product to potential porch thieves. Would recommend changing this.

I bought the used mars 5 ultra in used in good condition used. Everything was supposed to be working. Control arm was damaged, 18-20 failed prints . Did everything I could to fix the alignment and the the camera didn't work at all. After 9 weeks waiting on the camera to be replaced it still didn't work. I have to wait 2 days for every response from the support team. And no responses on the weekends. Deeply regret ever buying from elegoo. Be careful. You could be one of the unlucky customers that got the short end of the stick like I did. No returns they said.

So far not very happy with it. After setting it up I tried the test print. 2.5 hours later it finished and it failed to stick to the build plate and the 'Smart' AI camera didn't notice the failure. I turned it off, cleaned everything up and when I turned it back on it gives me a Mechanical sensor failed error. I tried everything and still no luck. I emailed support and no response. I went online to Amazon to the Elegoo support chat and after 3 hours of waiting they never showed up. I'll give it another day, then it gets returned to Amazon.

Everything was good, very fast, and all rigth!

9 outta 10 prints fail. I have gone to ask the threads and faq for settings and everything and nothing has helped.

It was a good experience.

Perfect for my first resin printer. Auto bed leveling is a must. After only a few calibration prints i was making highly detailed minis. The ai camera works well for detecting when the resin tank is too full. Changing the FEP screen is easy (apparently, much easier than other printers)

best beginner friendly out the box product.

I have not used it yet I’m saving up for the extra parts to clean and do the light etc so I have no accessories but I like forward to one day trying it out

I needed a smaller printer to augment my S4U and the Mars fits the bill perfectly. No issues at all with it.

First the auto leveling didn't work and I had to spend a couple days with tech support to get it barely able to level. Printed a couple of items and the light went out. After 3 days still waiting for a response from Elegoo. I have 3 other Elegoo resin printers and this is the first one with problems. Looks like there quality has gone down hill.

The title says it all. The machine itself is great, but the software is just a mess. The Elegoo SatalLite software actually can't print to the printer - apparently you need to use CHITUBOX, but the license is only good for 90 days. Apparently UV tools is involved at some point.
I only managed to print one time, and I have no idea how I did it. It's nothing but bouncing between different programs, getting errors related to unsupported filetypes, and general aggravation.

Avoid this at all costs until it machine can be supported using one included app, or at least one external app that isn't on a ticking clock. Just terrible.

I am very disappointed with this printer. I purchased it when it first came out and have had nothing but problems. The auto leveling doesn't work properly, if I manually set the leveling it will make a few prints but then it will fail and prints stick to the film instead of the build plate. I purchased a second build platform with the same results. The tilting vat sometimes will tear the supports from the model. It seems to add a tortional stress to the prints. I already own a Saturn, a Saturn 2 and a Saturn 3 ultra (a true workhorse) which all work perfectly. I also own several resin printers from other manufacturers. I mainly use my printers to print models for jewelry using a castable resin. I contacted customer service a few months ago and got no response.

Minus one star for sending me a leaky washing bucket. Seriously...you sent me a leaking 45$ bucket. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a bucket has one job...

Minus one star for failed first print. I don't want to talk about it.

Minus one star for all the additional expense that you have to pay well beyond just the bundle. I'm about $550 into it now, and I don't even have a print yet.

Minus one star for resin printing in general. First time use, it's just so messy. Messy messy messy! First day, the FEP looks cloudy and scratched, resin got on the LED somehow and I can't seem to get it all off, it's there forever.

In the self leveling procedure its asking me to adjust some screws if the build plate is too tight or too loose. I can remove the screws completely and still I cannot move the paper without it ripping. The build plate is so tight up against the LCD screen that no adjustments are possible.

I'm unsure what to do!
I've noticed that many people have encountered this issue right out of the box, and I'm now concerned that I should likely return it as it's a lemon.

Not sure how the printer was tested at the factory, if the build plate was not level.

i bought mine around 2 or 3 months now and first never would stick to build plate at all until i tried clear resin now it will print clear most of the time but no other resins it doesnt stick to the vat it dosent print right ive leveled build plate manually and combed threw eveything i can find to try and im not the only one there are tons of people on reddit have same isses straight out of the box im making a you tube video this week so others dont end up wasting so much time and money on this junk i did a lot of research and thought elegoo was the company to go with
